The Arkansas Medical Cannabis Act, also known as Issue 7, was the topic of a lively debate at last Friday’s monthly luncheon. Melissa Fults, Campaign Director for the non-profit organization, Arkansans for Compassionate Care, and candidate for Arkansas House of Representatives District 27, spoke in support of Issue 7. Senator Jeremy Hutchinson spoke against it.
Issue 7 along with Issue 6, an initiated constitutional amendment legalizing medical marijuana, is also on the November 8 ballot in Arkansas. Both Hutchinson and Fults agreed that one or both might pass. If both pass, Hutchinson said the one with the most “yes” votes will likely supersede the other.
